Alternative Interpretation of Speckle Autocorrelation Imaging Through Scattering Media

Abstract High-resolution optical imaging through or within thick scattering media is a long sought after yet unreached goal. In the past decade, thriving technique developments in wavefront measurement and manipulation do not significantly push boundary forward. The diffusion limit still ceiling. this work, we propose that medium can be conceptualized as an assembly of randomly packed pinhole cameras corresponding speckle pattern superposition shifted images. concept demonstrated both simulation experiments, confirming new perspective to interpret mechanism information transmission under incoherent illumination. We also analyze efficiency single-pinhole dual-pinhole channels. While infancy, proposed method reveals understand media.
